On November 28, 2011, Saint Rose School unveiled "Albert Add'em Up" as their school MATHscot! Students take Albert Add’em Up out in to the real world to find math! Pictures are brought back to school to be posted on Albert Add’em Up’s webpage and the Real World Math Wall found at school.
Jazzy had to estimate the number of Rice Krispies that were in her bowl and also the number of bites it would take to finish her breakfast.
Kate added up the white bulbs (6), the gold bulbs (6), the white stars (2), the white Christmas trees (5), and silver icecicles (4). The total number of ornaments she counted was 23.
Evan added up the fish in our tank.

Matthew and Albert Add'em made a cake! They used lots of measurements and fractions to make sure the cake tasted delicious!
Evan has invited Albert Add'em Up for dinner.Both Evan and Albert do not like green peppers on their quesadilla. Evan is trying to estimate how many green peppers are on his quesadilla.Evan estimates that there are 30 pieces of green pepper on his quesadilla.His quesadilla is 1/4 of a large quesadilla. Evan estimatesthat there are 120 pieces of green pepper on the large quesadilla.
Evan also had to estimate how many seconds it will take to
remove the green peppers from his quesadilla - 60 seconds!!!
I have 11 nail polish bottles, 2 nail files, 1 nail polish remover pad 16 nails on a disk.

Caleb and Spike want to figure out about how many crickets a lizard eats each week? Usually Spike gets 5 for breakfast and 5 for supper, multiply that by 7 days........Jiminy crickets! That’s about 70 crickets per week.
Daniel uses math in his piano lessons. He needs 4 beats of music in each measure. There is only one half note in the measure and it gets two beats. Daniel figures out that he needs two more beats to make a measure of 4 beats. He adds another half note to the music to make four full beats. Two plus two equals four!
Riley loves to add up his score while playing bean bag toss with Albert Add’em up. He got 2 20’s and 1 10 = 50.
Kailyn estimate 74 slats in one blinde. We have three windows in our dining room. So the total estimate for all three blindes is 222 slats.
Aiden counted up how many juice boxes he would need for him and his siblings for tomorrow's lunches. First, he had to count how many would need a juice box for their lunch and then he had to count out 7 juice boxes.

Dwight counted out how many pieces of carrots the family guinea pig would eat. She ate all 16.
Justin uses math when playing games. Albert wants to buy a ticket booth on the Monopoly board. It costs 3 dollars. Justin is the banker so Albert gives him a 5 dollar bill. Justin then gives Albert 2 dollars back - because 5 take away 3 equals 2. You need to know your numbers well to be the banker!
Evelyn counting money for Florida with Albert Add'em Up!
Reese and Albert decided to count Ponies. They decided to sort the ponies with the fancy ones on one side and the more plain ponies on the other. She also had 2 baby ponies. There was 12 fancy ponies and 2 baby ponies and 12 plain ponies for a total of 26 ponies. Reese and Albert had fun playing with all the ponies.
Alex brushes his teeth for 60 seconds to make sure they are good and clean.
Alex had 20 teeth but he has lost two teeth, he subtracted to find out he now has 18 teeth.
The tooth fairy brought Alex 4 quarters. He added them up ( 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = $1.00)

Crüz and Albert Add'em Up are putting Crüz's Saint John Seadogs hockey cards in rows of 5,and they then figured out that with 5 rows of 5 hockey cards = 25 hockey cards!
Here is Alexa with Albert Add'em Up. We counted all of the fruit in our fruit basket. We put them in order from most to least. There were 9 Apples, 7 Oranges, 5 Bananas and 1 peach. All together we have 22 pieces of fruit!!

Albert is red and white. He likes red and white snacks. We made Albert red and white cupcakes. Six cupcakes, plus two cupcakes, plus one cupcake equals six cupcakes.
We found groups of headbands. We found 2 groups had 1 colour, 3 groups had 2 colours and 1 group had 4 of the same colour. In total we found 12 headbands. We found math.
